Do you remember using a plain old pencil? You probably did when you were in school . The nice thing about a pencil is that it allows you to make a mistake. In fact the erasers on all my pencils were worn out much faster than the pencil was in these early years. Children find out that life is not as forgiving as our erasers were. Upon entrance into the real world we find that a very cynical change takes place. We start experiencing that generally people aren't that ready to erase what you have done by saying it's o.k. "go ahead " and start over, like we were encouraged to do in school. Instead the people you may have accidentally wronged may even go after you. Like the common rising problems with the out of control anger people are displaying when driving in their cars commonly described today as "Road rage"
Thank God '"Yes thank you Lord" that you are all about forgiveness. Mathew 6:14 tells us if we forgive others the Lord will forgive us. Even on the torturous cross suffering a cruel slow death Jesus looks at the crowd who turned against Him and said to the Father "Father forgive them they know not what they do." and He continues speaking this message into all of our hearts today hoping we will receive His unconditional love through all our mistakes and wrong decisions we make while in this life.
Daily we too must put all our "upsets and anger" on the cross of Jesus asking Him to help us to forgive and pray for those in our daily lives that spitefully hurt or use us. We don't have a choice we "Must" do it. The cleansing peace that comes brings healing to our lives and bodies. Never allow anger and bitterness to take root inside wasting all our wonderful energy and vitality God has blessed us with.
The devil is behind all unforgiveness doing what he does best, keeping us from the love and peace that the Lord wants us to enjoy in Him. We must all remember to "quickly" forgive others so the Lord in His mercy will "forgive us" when we need to be forgiven for our many faults.
The next time you see or use a pencil just notice the eraser. I can guarantee you'll see it's well worn down. As it should be.The only way we learn in this life is through the mistakes we make. The beautiful "key" is to never stop "trying" or to stop "forgiving". You must learn to get back up dust yourself off and do the right thing by (forgiving others, or asking others to forgive you) and keep traveling Gods narrow road forward.
To be the best pencil and eraser we all must be guided and held by the hand that holds us. Let the Lord do this in "You." Using the erasers of life to be a "blessing" as we erase and keep going onward never looking back or by dwelling on our wrongs or others who have wronged us.
* Note, If you go to another to ask them for "sincere" forgiveness for something you've done and they will not forgive. It's because they probably need time to heal, and many time they have not been been walking with the Lord and are used to holding grudges. Continue on knowing that you've done your very best. (make sure you do.) then go on with your life with a repentant heart trying "with much prayer" and a humbled heart not to do the same things again. If you have done this with a pure heart you have received Gods forgiveness immediately the moment you prayed. It's good to simply continue pray for the other party so they will forgive and too receive Gods healing peace into their heart.
Prayer
Jesus I have been wrong and sinned by doing this wrong (name it) Your word tells me without heartfelt sorrow there is no forgiveness of sin. I do feel heartfelt sorrow and need your forgiveness desperately today. I also forgive those that have wronged me. Help me to forgive them. As I spend time in prayer help me to pray for them as you did to those who deserted and wronged you at the cross of Calvary.
I love you and thank you and worship you for your sacrifice made for me. Precious Jesus you have heard my prayer. I will always love you and want to become all you desire for me. Amen.
