I have noticed in our city there has been more and more black bear attacks. The latest was a woman attacked in her garage as a bear was trying to get into her garbage. Previously there has been scattered attacks here in Orlando with people living in and near the natural habitat areas. These attacks have being associated with the people feeding them for amusement. This became a form of entertainment not thinking this habitual feeding was allowing the bears to become too comfortable and fearless of them watching near by. The bears were loving this unusual source of snacks and treats and continued wandering into yards then garbage cans left on the curbs for pickup. Let me say right now "It is down right dangerous and most times can be cruel to feed wild animals! They are "Wild" and can be dangerous to feed them.
In our Spiritual walk we must also be aware of a danger lurking "As 1 Peter 5: 8,9" warns us "Your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking who he may devour" his job is to rob steal and kill. As we become more aware of the devils tactics we realize that the power of prayer "In the name of Jesus" is our greatest protection against him.
A close relative and my prayer partner was planning a luncheon date with a friend when she developed the first "ear ache" she ever had the evening before. I will call her "Faith" because it describes her precious heart for Christ. In our recent phone conversation of "prayer and sharing the Lord" in our usual fashion she mentioned how God mightily used her that week but remembering how an '"ear ache" almost kept her from ministering.
As we were talking over the wonderful way God used her to minister to multiple lives in the past week. She suddenly was "quickened by the Holy Spirit within" with the knowledge the "ear ache" was an "angry attack" from the enemy because of her ministry. The Lord then told her to pray and come against the spirit of infirmity with His "word" and the "blood of His son Jesus" He even told her how to administer a "healing balm" that would sooth and comfort her ear in the healing process in which was totally and instantly healed. As she prayed for the Lords guidance He then revealed that the "devil"was trying to keep her from administering "Gods" delivering love and power through an evil affliction sent that prior evening thus the "ear ache".
What does this have to do with the bears. Most Christians today are ill prepared when it comes to the works of the enemy the "devil". We must not feed the bears "the enemy of our soul" by being ignorant of his ways.
The "devil" is a vicious creature and our "Arc " enemy. if we accommodate him by neglecting the word of God through study. He will keep chipping away to eventually destroy us. "Subtly" he comes in at first, then when we're comfortable and not aware he comes in for the finish! viciously tearing his victims to shreds.
The news said this woman needed almost a hundred staples to her head along with deep gashes and wounds to her back and chest as he brought her down in a furry. Her escape was no less than an act of God!
Remember your adversary the devil is seeking who he may destroy.
"Resist him" in your steadfast faith through the word of truth and you shall live! When we learn to pray in the word of God, our prayers will be effective. Don't take what God tells us about the devil lightly!!
Also watch for all the warnings and helps the Lord gives us in the Bible .
Bind the devil and he shall Flee!
Take your authority in the wonderful name of Jesus!
No weapons formed against you shall prosper! In the name of Jesus!
And above all do not invite him in because of ignorance of the word of God. Study!
Keep on the "Armour of God daily"
Go to a good Bible teaching Church or Ministry and find friends who are strong believers of Jesus Christ! and believe that "signs wonders and miracles" are still for today!
Jesus is the same "Today Yesterday and Forever"!!
Be blessed "Live" and be "Free in Christ" as you learn how to conquer the whiles of our adversary the devil! Halleluiah!
